After rain, check whether water is standing near the dock face, collecting in low spots, moving toward the building, or staying damp longer than it should. Inside the building, look for signs of water entering near dock doors or collecting around the threshold.
Drainage problems are especially important for facilities in New Jersey and Pennsylvania because freeze-thaw cycles can worsen concrete damage. When water enters cracks or joints and freezes, it can expand and contribute to surface breakdown.
Repairing damaged concrete without addressing the drainage issue may only create a temporary improvement.
Check for Repeated Impact Damage
